About Leather Balm
The Leather Re-Colouring Balm restores the colour and characteristics of all absorbent leather items both old and new. There are 16 colours formulated for use on leather, from a dark to light shade.
It works great for restoring the colour back to any leather item which may have suffered from colour fading due to exposure to sunlight or direct heat, worn, minor damage and/or slight cracking. It works great on dried out leather too. The Leather Re-Colouring Balm works by soaking into the leather, keeping the surface soft, supple, and durable, and will not rub off onto your clothes. The Leather Balm is made from leather conditioner with added colour restorer, which makes it an excellent leather restoration cream.
Simply reinstates the colour with only one application! Additional applications can be applied in order to reach your desired colour. With use, the leather will fade again but this can be reduced by using the Leather Protection Cream. The Leather Re-Colouring Balm is generally re-applied once every three years.
These cushions have been restored with the Dark Brown Re-Colouring Balm and show the difference with one coat (middle cushion), two coats (right cushion) and the original (left cushion)
NOTE: For scuffs and scratches, the Re-Colouring Balm will only work if the scratch has gone to a lighter colour than the leather. This will allow the Balm to soak into the scuff or scratch, blending the damage in. If the scuff or scratch is darker than the surrounding area, you will need a Complete Leather Repair Kit. You can still use the Re-Colouring Balm in order to restore the colour to the rest of your item.
NOTE: For lighter patches, the Leather Re-Colouring Balm will only work if it is able to soak into your leather – to test this, put a tiny drop of water onto the damaged area and see if it soaks in. If the leather isn’t absorbent, you will need a Complete Leather Repair Kit.

It’s best to clean the leather first with our leather cleaner, which will help the Balm soak in. Then, after using the Balm the leather should be protected, using our Leather Protection Cream. This will help stop staining and help prevent future colour fading too.
We have packaged all three products together, along with applicator sponges in our Complete Leather Restoration Kit.
Leather Balm Instructions
These easy-to-follow instructions will show you how it’s possible to completely restore leather using our Leather Balm.
Clean first before applying Leather Balm
Clean the leather first before applying the Balm. For best results, use our Leather Cleaner – This is because it deep cleans the leather to remove all dirt, but also opens up the pores of the leather so the Leather Balm will take to the leather in a better fashion.
Applying the Leather Balm
Rub the Leather Balm into the leather in a circular motion to ensure penetration. This is enough to completely restore the colour. Leave the Balm to soak into the leather for 10 minutes, then take a clean cloth and buff the surface of the leather. Make sure there is no excess Balm left on the leather.
Maintenance after applying Leather balm
After buffing, the leather becomes 100% colourfast. For thorough protection and longevity of your leather, we recommend applying the Leather Protection Cream; this will help to reduce future fading.
Upgrade to the Complete Restoration Kit
We have packaged all the products you’ll need, along with applicator sponges in our Complete Leather Restoration Kit. Buying the kit saves over £20 compared to buying all products individually.
