LEATHER DYE REDUCER
An alcohol based product used to reduce the intensity of the Dye Pro, and to maintain its penetration
- Helps create lighter tones within the Dye Pro range
- Helps improve leathers that dye unevenly
- Makes the dye go further
Our Dye Reducer has been designed to be used in conjunction with our Dye Pro. Using the Dye Reducer will help create lighter tones of dye; making a black more greyish for example.
It will also weaken the intensity of the Dye Pro so that the colour can be built up in several coats, reducing the chances of any uneven dying.
In order to gain more even coverage, the Dye Pro and Dye Reducer should be mixed at a ratio of 1:1. If you are using the Dye Reducer to create a lighter tone of dye, it can be mixed at whatever ratio suits your desired colour.
This cannot be used with our Dye WB – if you need to reduce the intensity of this product, you should dilute it with water using the same ratios as above.
Leather Dye Reducer is Suitable For

– To help dye leather more evenly, add Dye Reducer to Dye Pro at a ratio of 1:1 and then use Dye Pro as normal, applying more coats to build up the colour.
What is the benefit of using the Dye Reducer?
If you do not want a bright colour, using the Dye Reducer will weaken the colour making it less vibrant.
It also helps the colour go onto the leather in a more even fashion, limiting the chances of uneven dying.
Can this be mixed with the Dye WB?
No, the Dye Reducer is to be used with the Dye Pro only, as both are solvent based. If you need to dilute the Dye WB, you can do so with water, following the same ratios as the Dye Reducer.
Can the Leather Dye Pro be used without the Reducer?
Absolutely, the Dye Reducer is an optional product. It all depends on the overall colour you wish to achieve.
